“Buried in the Back: Recent Research at George Washington’s Birthplace National Monument”

Kerry S. González is the Chief of Cultural Resource Management at George Washington Birthplace National Monument and Thomas Stone National Historic Site. She holds a master’s degree in early American history with a focus on archeology and museum studies from the State University of New York College at Brockport. Although Kerry has been directing and conducting archeological excavations for over twenty years, she specializes in collections management, particularly legacy collections. She will be presenting on the new findings at George Washington's Birthplace National Monument from the last three years and how this work led to the park announcing that Room A, a portion of Building X is where George Washington was born
