Preserving History Together: Thank You, Moore and Teresa Gouldman

When Moore and Teresa Gouldman recently stopped by the Colonial Beach Museum to say hello, it gave us the perfect opportunity to once again recognize their incredible generosity and support.

Many of you may remember that our Native American Exhibit tells the story of the Gouldman Oyster Shell Midden, an important archaeological site discovered on the Gouldmans' property during surveys conducted in 2007 and 2008 prior to the construction of the new bridge near Wilkerson's Restaurant. Dating from approximately 500 B.C. to 1000 A.D., the site has provided valuable insight into the lives of the Native peoples who once called this area home.

The Gouldman family's generosity helped make it possible for these remarkable artifacts to be preserved and displayed here at the Museum, and their recent donation is another wonderful example of their continued commitment to preserving Colonial Beach's history.

We simply wanted to take a moment to highlight Moore and Teresa once again and thank them for their generous contribution and their ongoing support of the Colonial Beach Historical Society and Museum. Their kindness and dedication help us continue sharing our community's rich history with visitors and future generations.
