The museum was honored to host the a lecture with our Guest Speaker Marian Veney Ashton, Executive Director of the A.T. Johnson Museum who spoke about the history of African American Labor in the Northern Neck & John Wesley Sutton (1897-1978) a biochemist and protégé of George Washington Carver, who exemplified the resilience and resourcefulness of African Americans.
