The Mayfair Theatre in Colonial Beach, Virginia, was destroyed by fire in 1972. This historic venue had been a cherished part of the community, serving as a popular entertainment spot for both residents and visitors. Its loss marked a significant moment in the town's history, as it was a beloved landmark for many families who vacationed there regularly.

Opened in 1932, the Mayfair Theatre was located at 302 Washington Avenue, near the intersection with Wilder Avenue. It featured a single screen and accommodated approximately 286 patrons. The theater was a popular destination for both locals and vacationers, offering movie screenings and live performances. Notably, it remained operational at least through the 1950s.
